Dime McCarren 5K – Run/Walk for Youth
Saturday, May 6, 10:00 a.m. at the Greenpoint Beacon Center, 424 Leonard St. Brooklyn NY
The Dime McCarren 5K or M5K – Run/Walk for Youth was launched in 2012 to rave reviews, capturing the hearts and minds of local runners and walkers looking for something unique and fast-paced that also supports a great local cause – in our case, local summer camp and after-school services! Five years later, the Dime McCarren 5K is reaching an estimated 1,000 unique local runners one way or another!
Your participation brings vital services to North Brooklyn's youth!
Brooklyn’s hottest 5K
The one-loop, 3.1 miles, electronically timed, fast-paced course takes you on a tour of North Brooklyn’s hippest streets before returning to the finish for post-race vittles and awards. Produced by NYCRUNS since inception in 2012, the Dime McCarren 5K has grown into one of the most popular road races in Brooklyn, attracting over 700 participants last year!
A race for everyone
Participating runners' skill levels range from professional athlete to ephemeral amateur – in addition, we have teams of walkers, so the Dime McCarren 5K goes at speeds for all abilities and ages. It's a family fun race, and many families participate together. And because the proceeds go to fund local summer camp, it's a win-win for everyone!
